Terms of Service

Effective June 11, 2026

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of BuilderGraph — the website at buildergraph.dev, the API at api.buildergraph.dev, and the MCP endpoint (together, the “Service”), operated by Raintree (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the API, you agree to these terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you can bind that organization.

2. The Service

BuilderGraph indexes publicly available open-source development activity — repositories, contributor metadata, and ecosystem mappings sourced from Electric Capital’s crypto-ecosystems registry and the public GitHub API — and exposes it through a website, an HTTP API, exports, and reports. Derived signals (momentum, concerns, market share) are rules-based heuristics, not financial advice or forecasts. See the methodology page for definitions, freshness, and known limitations.

3. Accounts and API keys

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and API keys. Keys are issued per subscription and may be viewed, regenerated, or revoked from your account page. You may not share, sell, or proxy a key to circumvent plan limits. We may suspend keys that show abusive traffic patterns (e.g. scraping the API to recreate the dataset for resale).

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until canceled. You can cancel any time from the billing portal on your account page; access continues through the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice — changes apply from your next billing cycle. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; if something went wrong, contact us and we’ll make it right where we reasonably can.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • exceed, evade, or attempt to evade rate limits or plan quotas;
  • resell, redistribute, or sublicense bulk data obtained from the Service without a written agreement;
  • use the data to harass, dox, spam, or discriminate against the individuals it describes;
  • probe, disrupt, or test the vulnerability of the Service except through coordinated disclosure (email us first);
  • misrepresent BuilderGraph data as your own primary source.

6. Data and intellectual property

The underlying facts we index are public. Our compilation, enrichment, derived signals, and the Service itself are ours. Subscriptions grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use exported data internally and in work products (research, reports, diligence) with attribution. Electric Capital’s registry is used under its MIT license; GitHub data is subject to GitHub’s terms.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is”. Coverage is partial and freshness varies by entity (see methodology). We make no warranty that the data is complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose, and we expressly disclaim liability for decisions — including investment decisions — made on the basis of it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. Sections 6–8 survive termination.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date, and for paid customers by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
